Interesting, that makes two 85 coupes and one 86 Euro Coupe with the exact same "wrong" A&A front air dam. :?: :?: :?:

Slightly different air dam

Ok, here is some more wood for the fire. My 85 coupe has an air dam that is very similar to the euro coupe on ebay. The only real difference is that the holes on either side on mine are blocked off where his are open like the stock FMCO part. I don't know if my air dam was changed (I assume it was ...

No, it's an 85, and Sandy didn't mention anything special when I gave him the vin.

Question for the group

One of the things I've learned from reading the posts here is that the coupes were not repainted by ASC (I believe the paint code for the blue is 3l). Anyone know why my 85 coupe has a 1c paint code on the door sticker indicating it should be black? Anyone else have the same thing?

Hank?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4572677629&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Is this Hank's ebay seller Id, and is anyone else here planning on bidding on these? I was going to try and pick them up cheap for when I paint my car in the future, but if anyone here needs ...

Brent

I should have mentioned this in my response to your first post but I'm not talking about the difference between the 85/86 GT wheel (10 hole) and the 87-90 GT wheel (turbine). I'm saying that the 85/86 GT wheel (10 hole) and the 87-90 lx wheel (10 hole) wheels are also different. They are the ...

Brent,

I was wrong about the older wheels fitting the later cars; I guess Ford just didn't think there was enough clearance so they changed the wheels. The wheels are definitely different though. They have the same diameter; however the shape of the inside of the wheel was changed to give more ...

Ford also changed the wheels for the mustang between 86 and 87. The 86 and earlier wheels will not fit on the front of the 87 and up cars because of the change to 11" rotors. I didn't think Ford had changed the backspacing only the inside diameter of the wheel, but it's possible.

Pretty close Tom, I just measured the wheels I have in the garage and the coupe wheel has a 4.5" backspacing and the vert wheel has a 5" backspacing. Fredzilla, to answer your question, the backspacing is the distance from the back edge of the wheel to the mounting face where it bolts to the ...

Mike,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news man but I spoke to my buddy who used to own my car and those are not the original Kenwood speakers. The covers in the picture were the ones on the car when he bought it but he replaced the speakers because they were blown out. He said he used those ...

FYI, the mesh wheels from the 87-88 mustangs differ in more ways than just how the center cap loads. I have two of the mustang wheels that I am refinishing to temporarily replace the wheels on my coupe while I polish them and have them powder coated. I noticed when I had the first one mounted that ...

Learn something new every day; I thought all the ASC/Mclaren cars were numbered. I'm guessing from what I read that the cars were not done in the order they were received by ASC so there is no way of telling which 85 radio you should have. When the car was purchased from a ford dealers used car lot ...

Thanks Sandy,

Actually the building in the background with the dormers is a funeral home (up side :D neighbors are usually quiet, down side  sometimes they throw really big parties) our house is a half cape; probably built from a kit, which was very popular around here.

More importantly the ...
