Pretty straight forward.
Pull off upper intake and supporting hardware. Fuel rail is right there. May or may not need to pull fuel lines off. The injectors just pull out.

car show dash plaques

When you get the dash plaques at car shows, do you do anything with them? I was going through a drawer and found like 15 of them. Looking for ideas, I have gotten in a habit of not picking them up anymore.

Had same problem. Mine was relay for tonneau cover. It is mounted on driver side, in trunk, behind carpet, on wheel well.

Dont know how common it is to fail, but something to check. In a very quiet garage I could hear it click when i hooked battery up.

I have seen that wheel - leather wrapped amd cruise- on a cougar. Friend had one back in the day. His was a 86. Might have been a option on the cougar/thunderbird that trickled onto the mclarens.

I have not seen a 84-86 mustang with cruise and leather.

Another great mystery.

First thing I would do is to remove the throttle body and make sure that it moves freely.
Make sure the cable moves in and out.

If you do clean the TB dont go to crazy. There should be a little "gunk" in it.

The idle is controlled by the throttle air bypass valve--IAC valve.

Are you looking for body moldings or weather striping?

The body moldings are the same. ASC added the front and rear piece over the stock.

The weather stripping is another story.

Dew wipes are the same
Bottom and rear of doors are the same
Top seals and A-pillar seals are going to be different ...

Looks nice.

Interior looks good. Has radar detector. Color combo is cool. Car is made out of a RS. This is rare as most were GS.

Things not original:

Hood vents should be body color--does not matter looks cool
Grill should be 3 bar not 5 bar (no mercury logo)--- again looks cool
Radio and ...

The SSR is a trailblazer. Most under-pinnings an engine are the same.

ASC had a Lansing shop that did a lot work for GM. The cavailer/sunfire converts among others. With the SSR - ASC employees worked in the GM craft center as the vehicle was being built. They had to fine tune every top that came ...

fixing top

The stitching on my top coming off. I was looking at today and the stitches around one of the windows is loose also at the bottom of the top.

Is this something that has to go to an upholstery to fix or can I hand sew it back together? I can see the holes where the thread was.

Thanks

What year car?

On 79-86 you have to remove the dash pad. There are a few screws along the base of the windshield, and a few along the front - look for a small cutout above the glove box panel. You have to remove the bezel from around the gauges. A few screws are behind it

On 87-93 the speaker ...

So who is ready??

I have spring fever this year. It is end of March and still not one nice weekend to get car out or even work on it in the garage.

So who else is ready for spring to get here?
