:blob: Here I am! Thank you for your thoughts... We fared very well, thank God!
Although we aren't too far from the water we are much higher in elevation. We only lost power for 2 days. The McLaren came through without any trauma but came close... I had 3 or 4 tree limbs and branches land on the car ...

From what I could see, your top frame appears to be all there. but your missing the tonneau cover. Did you get it with the sale of the car?

this pics shows where the rocker switch to the tonnueau cover goes, this switch controls the pull down/release motor. http://images60.fotki.com/v661/photos/2 ...

Hi all - well it looks like I will have the 85 done in time for Carlisle. I usually take my 2001 yellow Mustang and park with the other yellows, but this year I don't think I will.

What class do you register the ascMclarens in? Capri ?? Specialty?? I want to make sure I park with the rest of you ...

There was a bubble Capri at Carlisle All Ford last summer that had one on it. Granted it was heavily modified to fit. The "foot" style mounts were removed and just the spoiler portion was installed, looked more like a asc wing just much larger. I don't think I have a pic of it but ill look...

I was having this problem and mine even popped open a few times while on the highway. Mine was a simple fix. The unit was gummed up with old grease, I kept spraying WD-40 and working the latch. It took about 10min and has been working perfectly for 2 years now.
Good luck...

Not sure if these are the best pics, but they might help a little ...

If it's an auto, it should have plain, non-finned, black covers:

If it's a manual they should be finned aluminum:

Where are you located? In about two weeks I'll be removing the rear from my car to install a new one (performance upgrade). The original is in perfect working order. If your near me your welcome to have it!
BTW I'm in the NY tri-state area.

Maybe if there is some pvc tubing in the right size, you could fabricate a short sleeve or adapter of some kind. Finished in black, of course.

Don't know what feasibilty is, just a first thought.

Those areS look terrific !
Could you someway ancher this in the center???
