Yes, the '89 is identical to the '88 as far as the convertible top is concerned.

What's always been unfortunate to me is how little people know about these cars - ASCs. You'd think they'd be more well known. Ford didn't market them well from '85 - '90, for starters. Well, The only choice is Hank on the Mustang motor, As i Think this motor was made for ASC .

I bought the same one the OP bought on Amazon for $47(after someone told me this is the one I need - thank you very much for that) and found out just this week that it in fact is ...

Dad has one, about 140k miles, great vehicle, tows well, about comparable in MPG to the bigger engines. Thirsty as hell, but it will set your butt back in the seat when you stomp on it. Fun truck ,very comfortable. Been really reliable.

I know, confusing he mentions beige/tan in one post, then mentions gray in the other. Both interior options were offered with Hot Yellow.

Sad. Ken's right, they made so few '90s its unfortunate that one was left out in bad weather like hail. But considering what condition the car is in overall its not a surprise.

At least it wasn't one of the rare color cars......
