Rest Easy Sandy

As all of you have already touched on, Sandy was always there and willing to dig up any little nugget on our cars. When I first talked to him a few years ago he gave me all the info on my car and even sent me a picture of my car sitting in the car lot when it was for sale new! Him collecting all ...

Rivets

I am in the middle of replacing my passenger rocker panel and I've been looking at what are the correct rivets as well. As best I can figure they are 1/4" steel structural rivets. By the way the crappy aftermarket rockers have a lower flange that is 3/8" smaller than OEM which is not a problem ...

Where is a good place to stay? Or where are people staying?

For budget stays the Super 8 Carlisle South is good, the Comfort Suites downtown is also decent but more money and you have to park in a parking garage (free with your stay).
Steer clear of almost every hotel North of the fairgrounds ...

Re: New Record

"KHummel66"
3 as a record? That's sad ... I can beat that without leaving my driveway. Although I'm made the trip to Carlisle before - the 7 hour trip took 9 and I'm not sure I want to put any of the asc's through that.
It is sad but the last couple of years the only McLarens I've ...

New Record

If the 3 of us bring our McLarens we've set a record already. Any others want to pony up?

If you have never been to Carlisle you should go at least once if you can. The Ford show is not as big as the Spring and the Fall event but as Sandy mentioned you don't have to walk miles to see everything ...

How about Carlisle ???

I am posting to see if anyone wants to try to put a group together to the Ford Carlisle show June 1-3 this year.

http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/events/ford-nationals/

I've seen it suggested for years here and we never do it, so I will go out on a limb and offer to make the arrangements for a field ...

How about Carlisle

Hey everyone,

I live just outside Carlisle and I go to most of the shows, and our cars are really under represented and under appreciated IMHO.

If you want to put something together for this year I would be happy to help. We could earmark a section for our cars, put a cruise together to a local ...

USA or the Best

I will throw my two cents out there again. I am far from proud of saying I had to buy a Nissan to get a good car. If the guy who said I was proud had bothered to read my post he would have seen that I have tried and tried to get a good big 3 car. I had to go to a Nissan to get there. I would have ...

One Simple Rule

I have to disagree wih most of you. I had been a diehard buy American, buy Ford person since I was 16 and got my first car (a Ford), to my first Mustang( a 65). I have been through a succession of Detroit prodcts since then. If I didn't rebuild it myself (and I've done a bunch of made USA cars over ...

5 SPEED CONVERSION

OK, I did it. My AOD tranny died last fall on my 88 ASC, so I decided to convert to a T5 5 speed (Yes Sandy I kept everything to convert it back to stock if I want).
What a project, but I learned a couple of things. First almost everything electrical wise is on the car to go auto or manual. No ...

Ahh That Clip

I got into the steering rack as was suggested, and what did I find on the opposite side of the rubbing tire-----a plastic C clip, but none was to be found on the other side. Hopefully I'll find a couple tomorrow and be back in business.
Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

Mesh Wheel Rub

Hi Guys,
I hope someone can help me here.
I finally got my 88 running, cleaned up and on the road, took it down to get inspected and they failed it for "tire rubbing" on the passenger side when turning right. I took it home and pulled the wheel and found that it was not the tire but the Mclaren mesh ...
