Today was the first day of the Texas State Fair. I work about a mile from there so our tradition is to visit for lunch and tour the car show, etc. while everything is still quiet and clean. There are usually Clubs showing their various cars, but today it happened to be a group of Mercury (mostly Cougar) owners. From a distance I spotted what looked like the nose of a Capri. Sure enough, it was a white ASC Convertible with Blue Interior (looked like an 85, but I never saw the back to see a 3rd brakelight). Great looking car in pristine condition. It was just cool to finally see one in person after studying them on the internet for years. There just aren't many down here. I remember seeing the Mustangs when I was in High School, but I had never seen a converted Capri in person. I would have rather seen a Coupe, but you take what you can get. There were some beautiful Cougars and Maurauders in the group as well. Anyway, my search continues for an 86 Coupe, but at least I found a local club to join when and if I ever find one.

I think it is a EuroCoupe considering it has no stripes.

$13k and it has the wrong front air dam. Actually that is the air dam I would put on if I had one, I like it better then the asc one

I have seen this one, but I'm not interested in Autos. It's gotta be a five speed.

I wanted to take a car to the Cougar Club auto corral at the State Fair, but they require that the cars be there all day (which is understandable), and there's no way that I was going to try to keep a two-year old under control for that long a period of time.

Mercury should make a modern day capri to bring some life back to its brand.

They tried it with the Marauder i did my part and bought one new and it really is an awsum car! But after 2 year production run that was it and actually good for Marauder owners that keeps the value up there

. I think a revamp of a crossover from mustang/capri version would be cool!

Not really. It wasn't built on the Mustang chassis.

They should bring back the Marauder name and use it for a Mercury car based on the '05 Mustang body.

THAT car would rule.

The Capri name should never be used again by Ford. It is the worst name to ever be used. It doesn't mean anything and has been used for about 12 different car models, Ford or Mercury. Let the Europeans have fun with the name.
