Convertible Top Questions
Convertible Top Questions
Hi Everyone,
Now that I'm finally getting some time to go over this new find of mine, I am coming up with some more questions I know you guys can answer.
My top is a replacement, did the original ones have headliners?
As mentioned on this site these cars are lowered, are the shocks and struts standard LX replacements?
I am still hunting for Recaro seat information so any ideas would be greatly appreciated (I know I'm sounding like a broken record but I keep coming up empty on these things)
Thanks
Chuck

The originals did not have interior headliners.
The closest seat to the ones used in the McLarens were called Recaro "N" seats, however there were slight differances. They were leather covered, heated and with stereo speakers in the headrests. They were cancelled 3/4 of the way thru 1988. They had power lumbar controls. The list price on the option was $1,765.00

When I was mucking around with the front end, I cleaned up and examined the spring stickers which are still on my springs. My memory isn't what it used to be, but the colors and I think the codes on those tags were the same as the old FMS "B" springs.

Sandy,
You sure they were the "C" springs? The codes and colors of the tags seem to make me believe they were the "B" springs. The ride is also more like the "B" springs. Both the "C" and "B" springs will drop a Mustang about the same. The "B" springs are essentially the same rate as the stock 5.0 springs, the "C" springs are a bit stiffer.
