I agree. You guys need to talk to the Saleen crowd. I think svt1996cobra was/is looking for an early Saleen to buy. His comment to me was that he now appreciates what Hank has done for us a good deal more. Apparently there is NO source for early Saleen parts....and there never will be.

The fact that you can pick up the phone, and obtain the parts to fix or restore your asc car is a luxury MANY ultra rare car owners NEVER have.

Let's imagine a world with NO Hank. We would all be scrambling for the same crappy used junk that might surface on ebay every 6 months. Most of our cars would have the wrong parts on them. Saveable cars would get parted. Life would suck in general.

Sorry for the rant.

Which is why after awhile there will be a point of profitability for people to make aftermarket parts to supplement for the exuberent prices. Sooner or later originality wont matter once oem is depleted. Reference early model Mustangs.

Be cool if someone had bought one of each of the parts of a ascMcLaren had reproduced them. Probably never happen but you can always dream. But you have to also think that even if the parts where avalible to the public it would take alot of work to make a clone of a Convertible ascMcLaren. Which is good  .

Hey welcome to the group. As you heard feel free to post some pics lol. Oh by the way did you do any mods to your ASC over the years? Thats another issue we come across although it seems most of us do.

Your car looks beautiful! I have a bunch of questions if you dont mind. What type of wheels are they? What side ground effects are you using Saleen? Is that a Racecraft sticker on the fender? Any mods to the drivetrain? Are those Recaro seats? If so that is the first time I saw Recaro seats with the newer side mirrors. I noticed the raised cowl hood, clear lense headlights, and no tail light covers.

I had to do a double take on your username "McLarson" is that your last name? Its so close to McLaren when you glance at it fast. If you like, how bout we call you ASC McLarson? :)

 Gee thanks, I've done alot to it over the years some for fun and some for necessity.

Lets see... Yes original Recaros with lumbar and speakers. They have a seat cover over them right now to try and protect them but time has had it's toll. Cervin Vega Stereo system with two 12" subs in the back "seat" area in a custom enclosure. I made a cover for it so you can't even see the speaks. It looks like a very small seat back there.

2" riser fiberglass hood.

Konig rims this Goodyear 245/45/17s

Not sure on the brand of the skirt and rear valance. THe originals went bad after about 5 years.

Drive train Hmmm... Heavy duty radiator, Electric fan cooling, reduced pulleys, 180 thermostat, MSD ignition, BBK headers, X-pipe, high flow mufflers (rumble rumble), Cobra intake and t-body, 75 MM MAF sensor, K&N, Tremic T-5, aluminum drive shaft, Ford racing clutch assy, Steeda short throw shifter, 383 gears, hardened axles, Steeda stage 3 G-Trac suspension (lowered almost 3 inches) Steeda stiffening kit including tower brace, subframe bracing and racing front and rear sway bars, All new Steeda busings, Steeda rack and pinion, Ford racing fuel pump, 42 # injectors.

So no I have not done too much

It runs like a champ still, but thinking of a rebuild on the engine.

Ty so much. Your car sounds like it is hooked up pretty nicely. If and when you do rebuild the engine what are your plans? I am in the mists of redoing mine too.
