Misc. Rear view mirror, sunvisor, one touch windows question

My rear view mirror is starting to discolor. I was thinking of replacing it with one that that has the same features as ours like the map lights but with more like a compass/ temp gauge. Are there any easy swappable units from Lincoln I can put in place? Also does ours have an auto dim too?

Sunvisors. The previous owner had placed two different types of sunvisors on the car lol. The driverside is plain with a mirror and the passengerside has lights on either side of the mirror. Which one is correct for our cars?

Also does anyone know of a plug n play one touch up/ down window switch? I am about to look on Ebay but figure if anyone has a business or can recommend a place. Thanks.

I think yours is a 1989. If so, dual illuminated vanity mirrors mounted on flat sun visors was the norm. We are talking ascMcLarens, so there will always be the rare exception. 1990s had a non-illuminating w-i-d-e but not high black plastic framed vanity mirror on passenger side (only) with curved (upward) sun visors.

Actually its an '88. I should get around to making a sig with this info but wanted to see if we can make those fancy ones that show a pic of our cars with the info.

Sandy would you happen to know of a rear view mirror with the specs mentioned that will swap from a Lincoln to these cars? Also were the ASC's auto dim too? If anyone knows I figured you would. Thanks.

Well.....she's a VERY VERY late '88. She has parts from 88 & 89 on the same car. Your ground effects are 87/88 while your upper door sill full length (ending at the "A" pillar) moulding is 89/90. You could shoot me your last 6 VIN #s on a PM and I'll return your sequence #.

The 1990 style non illuminated vanity mirror is still in the FoMoCo parts book. No, the rear view mirrors in these car were not altered. They are regular Mustang mirrors (no dimming feature).

Shoot me a close up pic of your backside of your sunvisor and I'll see where it came from. I'd be pretty sure it's normal Mustang, but...I don't think 'Stangs of our vintage came with Illuminated Vanity Mirrors. If not, it would definately be a Ford sourced part, but I'd be more inclined to think Crown Vic or Taurus, probably the Taurus. (Are they cloth or vinyl ?)

Hi Sandy I can tell you off hand it is #1345 for '88 so it is late model year. The rest I dont remember off hand and will pm you. I never noticed the upper door sills being different. I learn something new from you all the time and I have a pretty good eye for detail. The sunvisors are vinyl. I will send you pics and the last 6 of vin soon.

Well, it's the 869th 1988 made, subtracting the 479 (of 1987) from your dash plaque of 1348. So, they made about 146 after yours. Ya, pretty late in the run. The uppr sills on 87 & 88 end just above the door handle and end in a point, like this: >
89 & 90 proceed forward all the way to the bottom of the "A" pillar.
So, while you have the "new-for-1989" style upper door sill moulding, you also have the 87/88 style side ground effects rather than the then new 89/90 style side ground effects.
Don't fret. I've seen this several times before. It's definatly period correct. What I have never seen would be 87/88 upper door sill mouldings WITH 89/90 side ground effects ! (Something's "wrong" there!)
BTW, the interior leather sew pattern & stitchery changed in 1989/1990 from the diagonial "pleats" of 1987/1988 in all interior colors EXCEPT BLUE which retained the diagonial pleats of 87 88, YET YET YET used a NEW shade of blue ! (This I was never able to find out the WHY of....)

Sandy I am confused. I thought you said in an earlier discussion my car was one of the last 100 made that were wholesaled to Canada at one point? If there were 146 after mine how can that be the case? Thanks in advance.
