warped side skirts baloney
I've seen mention of warped side ground effects many times on here, and lastly in reference to the Black and Orange car, when refering to the coupes. Every original I have seen is "warped" and I am fond of the warped look as it is so different than the Mustang skirts. I believe that the first one I ever saw way back in 85 was warped just the same. I think the curve in the center is sexy and makes the cars look leaner. Those I have seen that have the metal backing to straighten them out just look all wrong to me. I almost believe that the curve or warp was designed in. Just my .02.

Mine are still straight, no bend in center. How do I feel? I don't mind the curved in center, but I prefer the straight, only because that was the way it was meant to be. If the brochures showed them with a curved in center, and mine wasn't, i'd go and kick it in

Yeah, they weren't designed in as like Sandy can attest, original low mileage well-taken-care-of cars do not have bends.
But like you I thought (and still do) kind of think they are cool looking with the bends. My car originally had the "bend" to them. If you look at BMWs of the same era or later, they have this EXACT same bend to their lower middle body area. I thought asc was simply copying their design!

Hank (www.ascmclaren.com) has some angle iron that fits nicely on the bottom/backside of these.
If you take the side mouldings off the car, and let them heat up on a 100 degree day, you might be able to get the mouldings straightened out. It might turn out to be a long process as you may need to start from the middle and work outwards over a few days so they don't break.
The repro mouldings are fairly "bendy" and probably are easier to straighten than the originals which were made from a harder plastic.
