heard of a GPIV local to me

Post by stangmodifier »

Not sure if this should be posted here or not. I went to a kinda local Mustang Cruise I heard was going on this past Sunday. None of my 4 mustangs are road worhty right now so I took a 85 Mclaren coupe. You guys know the deal it was a hit. Most never heard of or saw one before and those who did had a story of some sorts about a capri. A guy talked to me for 10 minutes or so about a RS, I asked if he still had it and he said no but he had a GPIV that he picked up in Oklahoma awhile back. I believe he said it was Grey with no stickers. My granddaughters were getting a little cranky so I wound up leaving soon after without really talking about his car. I hope to run into him at another gathering or cruise and get some more info. It could all be BS too.

Could be BS but you never know. Very few people know about the GP4s. I think if you had the VIN you could get a good idea if it had the possibility to be a GP4.

The car is probably a repaint. They were either white or silver.

The three silver ones are accounted for aren't they? I believe the are all still in MI. So if it is a GPIV it probably is a repaint.

it has been documented already. that one is car 615387. it is a white car.
its last known state of condition was in grey primer (and without the decals of course). it was stripped & a resto was started by the previous owner in oklahoma before it was sold(around 2002). sound like the car has'nt been touched since then.
it is located in kansas & the owners named is William.
a photo & its info can be found on the motorsport capri registrys car page.

as far as the silver cars go, all 3 have been documented. However,
there has been rumours of a 4th silver car (with a sunroof) floating around for a few years. nothing has been confirmed though. also there was talk that bill ford jr. had 1 of the silver cars back when they were new.

WHITE!

Post by stangmodifier »

So its a twin to your car and Davids car? { I'm thinking while rubbing my hands together, how can I hide another project around here?, 5 of your cars are white you like white cars!, How do I run into this dude again? Might he want to trade something for it? It's pretty rare and you will never get another chance of getting one without a long ass drive. Hmm maybe the wife can do some tattoo work in trade for me? Stopped rubbing hands to take a swallow of beer} Wow I have to talk to this cat again. If I don't own it one day I would like to assist him in bringing it back. Poop I'm gonna own it.

Sure, It could be months before I ever run into him again. I don't know where he is from. He almost has to run into me again and reintroduce himself again. I did'nt get to talk to him as much as I would have liked to.
Is the stickered up car in your album your Eurocoupe?

No, I don't have any pics of my Euro in there. That was a car that was for sale locally here awhile ago. I forgot they were even there
