Favor from an 84-86 vert owner?

Post by mustang marty »

The top on my 85 is missing the latch hook and I would like to know what it looks like. I one of you that owns a 84-86 'vert could snap me a couple of pics I would be much appreciative.

I have emailed Hank to see what he may have or know about this missing part.

Thanks!

I can help. Can you show me a photo that directs me to the place where the part is missing? I want to be sure that I photograph the right part for you.

Here you go...

The part I am missing is were those two bolts are. It is the very center of the top's rear seal where it latches... I took the pic with the rear of the top up as high as it would go.

Thanks. If there is still some light outside when I get home from work tomorrow, I'll run over to the car (I store it about a mile from my house) and take some photos. If the light proves to be insufficient, I will try again on Saturday.

Thanks... I just heard from Hank and the part is $75. I would like to see what I am getting into before I shell out that much for a hook....

Hehehe....get used to it.

Hank has ALOT of my money. Thankfully he HAS these parts...expensive as they may be but available. If no Hank then my asc would have been scrapped a long time ago.

Oh, I know... I priced the tail light covers back in '97 and nearly filled my pants. I just need to see if it really is something special or just a modified part off a Studebaker or something.... If that is what it takes, I'll get it.

I was able to take some photos of the hook today. They looked clear on the camera when I took them, but don't look so hot now that I am at home on the computer. (I really hate technology other than e-mail and the internet.)

I'm not sure how to post the photos here, so Marty, if you will shoot me your e-mail address, I'll mail them to you.

Mike, thanks for your patience and willingness to explain these things to folks like me. I have now uploaded the photos to my album, and I e-mailed them to Marty as well. I hope that they are of some help.
