Got the paint for my 87.

Well, we got the paint for my car. Its Viper Red

. We expect it to be painted in about a week or 2.

We are going to go to Harbor Frieght this week to get tarps o that can just put it down when we want and roll it up when we want. We will cut holes in it so that the heater and vent can blow in and out of it.

What kind of paint are you using? Have you painted a car before? Do you have a garage that is seperate from your house?

I don't mean to be nosey, but as I have painted several cars in a home made paint booth, I would be happy to share anything that might be helpful!

One more thing, make sure to wear a high quality respirator with a face shield for your eyes, as well as a body suit. Modern paints have a lot of nasty in them, and you don't want to absorb this stuff through your skin! I don't know if you already know this, and I don't intend to come off as preachy, I just want everyone to be safe, and their livers to live to filter out another beer!

We are using DuPont Chromabase. Yes, my dad has painted many car's in garages before so I will leave it up to him to paint it. My garage is like the size of a small to medium shop and it is separate from the house.
We bought 2 respirator's at NAPA yesterday. Safety is rule #1

I second the safety part. Quality respirators are a must. I painted a couple of cars with some cheap ones years ago and I still have sinus problems. Be safe and good luck with the paint job
