mclaren EXP

I know mike has seen this on foureyedpride. Don't know if he or anyone posted this yet. Please delete if someone has.... But check this out and add some comments, but not on the obvious 89 or 90 mclaren in the background....

That is cool i like the exp's did not know asc did one up i had a 1984 turbo one years ago neat little car!

1.) Is it real, meaning did asc really do this car, or is it the great creation of a private person?

2.) Who owns the ascMcLaren in the background? Do you know the year of it ?? The white top, says 1990, but I cannot see the wheels.

3.) I never cared for the EXP cars, BUT that one is probably the best of the lot.

I am amazed and impressed that even a car as obscure as the EXP has a very cool website dedicated to it.

The EXP and LN7 were cool little cars, giving someone in need of Escort-type mileage something with a sporty look.

The car is real, I recall reading an article about the car in the 80's. I believe it was Car and Driver that did the write up. I have always wanted a EXP turbo. In my younger years a co worker and I took a new 84 Turbo Escort GT and a new 5.0 5 speed Mustang GT out, and touched them off. The Escort hung with the Mustang until about 3rd gear. I kept playing with the Escort to see I could get a bit of an edge on the Mustang, until I power shifted the Escort ,hard in second, and about torque steered the car into the side of the Mustang, we went back to the dealership, and parked the cars!
