ideas for console repare or replace '88 mclaren

well the owner before me installed a cd player and i planned to put the original stereo (which i have) back into the car. problem, when i took the cd player out i noticed that who ever installed it drilled holes on the front edges of the console that won't be covered by the original radio. any ideas on how to cosmetically fix or where i can get another front console portion in gray? i know i know....Being detail oriented, i just want it back to if i bought her of the showroom floor.

I believe the front half of the console is a stock Mustang item, and so you should be able to find one in a good salvage yard, or through one of the Mustang vendors.

Funny, I'm not so much into the originality thing, but anything I do modify, I want easily returned to stock if the desire should arise.

Yes you are correct, the front half of the console is stock Mustang console. I have two Mustang consoles that I was going to put on EBay, one red and one grey if you are interested.

red390gt, very interested and i am assuming the grey is in good shape and will fit my car. post a pic if you can and let me know on a price.
