If no body comes up with a mustang rod today I am going to my local auto parts tomorrow and if they have one I will compare the two( t-bird & mustang rods).

I looked up the aftermarket stuff and it says it fits both TBird and Mustang for those years.

Aftermarket tends to try the one size fits all so...who knows exactly which part they will manufacture.

I think you will need an actual Ford Tie Rod Tip.

you can try the dealer but you will probly have to call green sales... like mike said it must be a ford part for this "test"

ok i have a hunter wheel alignment specification book but it only goes back to 87. so here are the ride heights for an 87 mustang and an 87 t bird.

mustang from the front bumper to the ground 15 3/8" from rear bumper the the ground 15 1/2"
mustang loaded (150lb in drive and pass seat and 150lb in rear) from just infront of the door to the ground 7 5/8" from just in front of the rear tire 6 11/16"

t bird from front bumper to the ground 15 7/16" from rear bumper to the ground 15 5/8"
t bird loaded (150lb in each of the 4 seats) same places as mustang 8" front 7 1/2"

so a 87 t bird would be 1/16" taller in the front and 1/8" in the rear... i dont think we solved anything here... somone needs to find the info for a 85 capri and 85 t bird
