I recieved today a very nice e-mail letter with photos. This man has some rare & interesting Mercuries, including a Marauder, a S-55 and a Mercury Colony Park wagon turned into a Continential wagon, other older cars and a mint High Line Mercury Comet, like a Ford Maverick style. He has just bought an ascMcLaren 1987/88 (not sure) in Keweenau White with the Atlantic Blue roof and Regatta Blue interior. He should be coming along soon. I will allow him to post his photos. You will be amazed ! I think it's 1ike 15 Mercurys. Oh, before I forget....he comes to us from
FINLAND ! Go Finland!
His name is Jori Rintamaki with two little dots over the 2nd "a" in his name.
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Thats neat i am a big Merc fan i just picked up a nice original shape 1968 Mercury Montego MX coupe it has neat history it was sold new here in Cherokee Co and pretty much never left the county 2 owner car and nicley doc even the org window sticker. And just got a 1972 Mercury Cougar Conv with believe it or not pretty much same story that was one county south of me all it's life 2 owner car but no window sticker on that one. Hey Sandy do you recall my 1980 Seville Diesel? Anyway i recentley sold it to a guy in Finland was kinda neat learning the in's and out's of helping export a car.

Hello Sandy and other members! Here Iam!
We just got McLaren Mercury Capri and it is 1985. I bought it from Denver and 68.500 miles on it. What can I say...it is a great car and only little work.
We have collect Mercurys many years and we have 18 of them now (including two Fords Maverick and 353 cid Galaxy 1965 and one Thunderbird super Charged 1993).
This is a hobby for my wife and me and we never ever sell any cars. Only collect them. We live in Finland but we visit in US every year two times. We just came back from Tennesee, Pigeon Forge. We was there in International Mercury Owners Assosiations (IMOAs) meeting and car show.
If somebody is interesting of our cars you can visit in our homepage:
http://www.mercuryman.fi
There is also our e-mail adress and forum if you want to talk with other collectors from Finland.
I have drive one week with our McLaren and I must say it is the best car ever made!!!!
Thank You
Inka and Jori

(I almost deleted his ID cause it was from overseas...I'm glad I didn't. Damn spammers really make things a pain.)

Awesome collection. It's great to see that you have a late '70s Cougar.

Welcome!

Jori, again, WELCOME ! I didn't realize that you have come to the "States" ~ That is interesting. I do have a bleep on IMOA. Have you seen me there? I assume that you have seen my 1986 Mercury Capri RS asc/McLaren Bubble-Back Coupe ?

http://images17.fotki.com/v14/photos/4/ ... 1158633569

What do your countrymen think of Mercurys and of your collecting them and fondness for them? Are they + with it or - about it, like asking "Why would you ever want to collect THEM? ...... ??

I'm sorry, but this has to be my #1 Favorite of the collection! Any car with one foot long chrome trimmed Cornering Lamps has to win out !

http://www.mercuryman.fi/photos/s55/S555.jpg

But, in truth, as I had told you thru our e-mails, the one I respect the most is the below car, because I had a 1 on 1 with Pharoah Industries who made them, was aware of the unique way FoMoCo allowed them to be ordered FOR Pharoah Industries, and the fact that the folks here in the States who bought them were very wealthy and to them it was "Just a car" to be used and cast away as junk, when worn out. I have not seen one (in any condition) in at least 20 years.

Pharoah was located in Texas, not sure of the city.

I Looked at your entire photo album. Some drop Dead fabulous Mercs in there! I like the orange Cougar Eliminator and the Dusty Pink 1964 (1963?) Monterey Coupe with the fender skirts.....was that a pic of you in the first group with wife & 2 kids? I thinkl it might be....Yes? ?

BUT..whatis this ?? Never seen anything like it
Looks like a Mercury Police Car - UNmarked.
It THAT what it is ? Never saw such.

Sandy that is a Mercury Marauder with the PI wheels. Some LEO agencys use the Marauder as interceptors.

David, I am in "Stupid Mode" ~ Please tell me what "PI" and "LEO" stand for. I cannot figure it out. Terms I am not familiar with.
Also, Look at YOUR Marauder. It's black, correct? Okay, what is black in the front? Are ther grille bars (vertical) black? Is the Grille surround also black, (Or chrome)? Lastly, wahtcolor did these come in? I seem to recall silver or black. I never saw any other color(s). Do you know?

All the ones I have seen have been monochromatic. I think that is what you call it.

Oh and welcome Jori!!!
