I'll keep an eye out for you in these parts for a 4-eyes Saleen. Tough car to come across

Hey guys, got the 86 vert home. I must say, the car is WAY better than it was advertised. Oh, it has its' issues, but is better than I expected. I haev already put about 300 miles on it as I used it while in the Orlando area, then towed it home. The best part thuse far, my wife likes it, so I told her it was hers. That makes it like a freebie car for me. What I mean is, she keeps count of how many cars I own ( we had the "how many cars DO you own" chat just yesterday). I do not have to count it as one of mine. See, this is how I got to get a Marauder, I bought it for her! LOLOL
OK, PLEASE do not tell her, haha! Other cool thing, my nearly driving age son, well, I road with him yesterday around the block in the car. We live in a very quiet rural area, so this is not uncommon. Anyhow, it was his first drive in a road, in a McLaren. Pretty cool car story for him to remember and tell his kids about one day.
The car really runs great. I could not be more happy. It does need to things, like the steering wheel is so-so. Need to replace the boot cover lowering motor. It is all jacked up. Just a host of smallish items need attention and one day, I will re-paint white and recover the seats with the proper material.
I also dropped in on Hank while down there and bought a set of headlight covers off him. Had a good time visiting and checking out his collection. He has some amazing cars, both McLaren's and Cougars.

Re: Saleen
Good call Dave on getting a garage going you can get a ton done with a nice shop it is fun to have several things going! I have never had a four eye Saleen either would like to find one of those one day also!svt1996cobra wrote:Everyone,
Thanks for all the kind words!
My dream car is a foureyed Saleen. I have never had one, I have always wanted one.
I did make sure I placed the silver GPIV with someone that will care for her as I did. Chris I am sure will do so.
I think now I am going to build my dream garage first, so I have a climate controlled location for future cars.
Thanks again,
David
