I need EVERYONE's opinions!!!

I already know all you McLaren lovers appreciate the cars original look but as some of you may know by now... I must tweak. I'm not a fan of the overkill method, but more in tune with the less is more theory. So with all that said I would like your input on colors and materials I should use for my interior.

I think a stained pine wood dashpad with matching wooden door interior covers would be a good start. Add on that with a stained pine console and replace all of the remaining plastic trim with more stained pine. Remove those silly fabric seats and build some serious stained pine wooden bucket seats and wooden steering wheel. You could probably make your own matching wooden rims and a large wooden wagon to hitch behind the car.

Due to my recent inheiritence from the passing of my Father's brother, who never married, I have recently made a bid to acquire the original Mona Lisa painting from the museum where it is housed.
The fact that it's done in black & white bothers me, in this day & age of vivid color. therefore, I have been playing around with different color schemes for Mona. Any suggestions? Thinking of adding a Floridian sunset behind her.

If your interior is in really good condition you should leave it alone or just fix/replace the little things here and there.

If your interior is total crap (like mine was) then let your imagination/checkbook run wild.

If you want something truly killer, may I suggest having a custom dash and center console made (or make it yourself if you can).

There are lots of fabricators around that can build some neat stuff from aluminum, fiberglass, and even carbon fiber.

I would never suggest molesting a good car, but if it's crap or missing, why not go crazy?

Just to counterpoint:

If the interior is "crap" or missing items, I think it would/could be less costly and eaiser to restore it to OEM specs. Most parts could be found in a junk yard (those that were OEM Mustang) and if the wrong color, could be sprayed to match. The only ascMcLaren exclusive items are available from Hank @ http://www.ascmclaren.com

Maybe your opinion of what is crap differs from mine.

After looking at my particular car, and then Henry's prices, I decided to go for my own style on the interior.

Otherwise, I would end up with a stock interior which never really did it for me anyway.

Again, this is my personal car that I bought dirt cheap becuase it was messed up to the point that it needed to be totally torn down and re-done.

I bought my ASC to customize it. Not collect it.

Bryan it sounds like you already have your own ideas for your own car. Why bother with asking? Do with your own car what you want and enjoy it. That is why we spend our own money to buy our own cars and things . So why not do and enjoy all of your things the way you want them.
