It is defenitly a ME car. Has the FORD radio but many 86 had them. I'm realizing I have a LOT to learn about these cars. I love that.

Mike, I dig in my paperwork and I have the original warranty booklet with the VIN of the car and warranty starting date of June 28 86, dealer Weber Motor Co, sales code 52C306, city and state Ventura Ca. That really confirm the car as an original California car. I will scan and send picture of it

Could be. It could be a long shot that the dealer got the car from a dealer out east also.

Do you have the DSO (on the door tag) for your car?

Also, I think Sandy can tell you which dealer your car came from I think...

He has paperwork on the 86 cars.

Yes I would like if he could tell me, also I bought my car as beeing number 62 but the production number tag is not on the car. Can it be confirmed.

Sorry, my paper work with name/location of ordering dealer is for the 1988s, That was the only year that did not get thrown out in the dumpster. She is #62 of the 245 made with 1986 titles (Converts, that is...)

so any insight as to why his car might have dealer installed AC or was sold new in CA?

Ok thanks, I will order the plate from Henry. Do they all have the red surrounding edge or they came with other colors. Excuse my lack of knowledge I will learn.

It's actually a "Red-Orange" or what some would call a "Light Red"

maybe im thinking of the rear power ones then... but still hit and miss some got front some got rear... it think its all about how busy they were that day

also have we seen any shots of the air box or a/c controls? maybe the compressor took a crap or other parts were replaced by another owner. if you have a ford a/c air box under the dash then the car is FOR SURE factory a/c. i think the non a/c cars had alot of room under the dash lets see some pics!!!
