ASC does allot of nice work on vehicles. Sadly McLaren became little more then a name on our cars. Makes you wonder since they did extensive work on the GNX and even the Grand Prix back in the day.

Correct me if I am wrong but McLaren only helped in a little of the suspension on our cars. I noticed one thing, the earlier model wheels have McLaren stamped on them. Then when it went onto the Mustang platform it said MSW instead. Anyone know any other goodies McLaren contributed?

Testing the suspension alterations, especially on the Coupes, involved McLaren. To a lesser degree on the 'Verts, where IMHO it was just the aura that the name McLaren lent to the car. But....... I am not 100% positive ! :shrug

Sandy, didnt the Euro coupes get the larger speedo too? Correct me if I am wrong but I could of sworn that McLaren was supposed to have a larger role in these vehicles but had a falling out with ASC at the time. The verts did have some suspension tuning that was supposed to be by McLaren. The lowering of the vehicles by using different springs, larger tie rod ends, sway bar (?), wheels, and who knows what else. I've heard stories of B cams being tossed into the coupes too, can that be confirmed or denied?

The 85 verts got the springs I think...its kind of murky. I wasn't aware that they got the tie rod tips. You're the first to mention a sway bar.

I know Ford used different sized sway bars in different years depending on the engine. I think the 85/86 cars would have gotten the larger ones from Ford by default since they were v8 cars.

No, EuroCoupes made do with the 85 M.P.H. Speedo. HOWEVER, the bigger speedo might have been an option for them, from ascMcLaren....!?

The tie rod tips and lowering springs were mainly on the Capris, Coupe & 'Vert.

Did youall notice the propossed new spoiler for the 1991 ? I recalled after posting the picutre that Enkei was going to produce the 1989/1990 wheel identically, but in a 16" size, as seen on that red car.
I have an internal paper where "the suits" pretty much had agreed upon a build goal of 175 units, for 1991.
