woodward 2008 pics

Post by tfs2121 »

hi all. woodward was a blast like always. mark laura my girlfriend and i were on woodwad around 7:30am

within the first hour i spoted 1 red mustang vert and 1 black mustang vet.

john was there with his VERY well documented 86 vert #201. also an 87 vert white blue blue with 30K on it. that car is also for sale.

i got to see the red 84 vert that i saw last year. i had called it Mclaren over load. well it was over loaded again this year with 6!!! thats right 6 people in it. i chased it down to take some pics and then they got pulled over by 2 bike cops. yeah and not on motorcycles. the cops yelled at me and the people in the car.

hippy was there with his 86 black and silver coupe. but i didnt see it.

i also got to see a dark maroon red mustang ver i chased it down but im not as fast on foot as i was on my bike

once again everyone i talked to had NEVER been to this site. i dont know what it is... why are we so hard to find? i also got word that hank was in town for the cruise.

Too bad I couldn't make the party. I was forced to spend time with the kids  . I wish I could have shown my car. Who was the guy in the car, Is he on the site? How many ASC's did you count for the day, not just parked but in total?

Pete, you look like you lost some weight! Been on a diet?
G/Friend looks cute, also. But, I count only 4 McLarens....Was that it?

ONLY 9 ? Just 9 ascMcLarens ? For being Michigan and home of ASC & McLaren and the 100s & 100s of cars attending, to get out only 9 ? Heck, just myself could bring 3.

Anyone notice the drop in cars at mustang alley? Last year there were about 640 cars, this year they only had 420. hmmm, I wonder why.

If I wouldn't have had that wedding to go to, I would've been there, not mustang alley though.....

yeah i saw about 40 of the asc camaros driving up and down the street.

sandy the thing is... i was parked just north of the center of woodward N to S. but the strip is like 26 miles long... so i got to see only .001% of what was going on. i heard 1.4 million people lined the road for the cruise on sat.

so we (me, mark and laura) got to meet some intresting people.

one was a guy from some web site. he took a bunch of shots of there 86 vert. i dont remember the name of the web site genopalis or something like that? i asked them to put in there wright up more info at ascmclaren.org.

another was a guy that worked for asc and painted the cars! all the verts. he did some body work but he was a painter. he told mark and me he put his mark on every car he did....
now everyone go to the garage pop your gas door and look for a thumb print on the inside of the door. if its there then that guy painted your car.

also some guy that saw the cars being built when he was young. his dad worked for asc. he said one station they did one thing. the next station something else

And how many did you bring?

I think people where kinda Woodward burned out and with no REAL meeting place the thought of driving and looking for places for everybody to get too would have SUCKED.

Maybe we will have better luck at Burch Run or Monroe.
