well some of us gpIV owners met up. only one brought an actual gpIV (Semaj) but me and Mike B, Semaj, Rick & a couple of others hung out most of the day. Mustangs this time. Rick had an 06 gt & i was driving an 09 Vert (with Mike in that crazy afro wig(again) sitting on the trunk).
we spent our day just cruisin. the group did make a stop at mustang alley for a couple hours in the afternoon (with free parking in the mustang alley).
seen/talked with Vince and his 89 Red/tan/tan ASC vert in the alley.
also spotted what looked like Sandy's red 88 vert parked along woodward.
an 86 asc vert in white with the skirts & covers was spotted cruisin.
only seen 2 regular capri's. seen a non-rs 79-82 on friday & an interesting 83 RS on saturday. what was interesting was it had a pair 87-93 lx taillights & 1990 5-starr mustang rims.
all and all a great time except for everyone in our car got sunburned.
seemed like there was less cars from last year.
also mustang alley's attendence was way down.
mostly 2004-2009's. with lots of 94-03 cobras/gts as well. the classic ponys were sparce. also it seems that the ferndale show which takes a chunk of the street in mustang alley right at woodward grew this year which really didnt help the situation.
might have to take a break from the alley for the next cruise.

Once again great job taking pics thanks!!! Do you have any additional pics or links of these pics in full size by chance? I am so car crazy and love to see so many different types of cars. It's nice to see how cars have evolved. If it werent for shows like these so many cars would be forgotten. Just imagine how many manufacturers makes and models no longer exist.tfs2121 wrote:hi all. woodward was a blast like always. mark laura my girlfriend and i were on woodwad around 7:30am
within the first hour i spoted 1 red mustang vert and 1 black mustang vet.
john was there with his VERY well documented 86 vert #201. also an 87 vert white blue blue with 30K on it. that car is also for sale.
i got to see the red 84 vert that i saw last year. i had called it Mclaren over load. well it was over loaded again this year with 6!!! thats right 6 people in it. i chased it down to take some pics and then they got pulled over by 2 bike cops. yeah and not on motorcycles. the cops yelled at me and the people in the car.
hippy was there with his 86 black and silver coupe. but i didnt see it.
i also got to see a dark maroon red mustang ver i chased it down but im not as fast on foot as i was on my bike
once again everyone i talked to had NEVER been to this site. i dont know what it is... why are we so hard to find? i also got word that hank was in town for the cruise.

Collective thoughts on finding the website. It's not hard to find the site as Mike has proven before. I just think that when people are motivated enough to find us they will. Just goto a search engine and type in the name or type it in the url and gamble on trying dot com or dot org lol. Aside of bringing it to others attention how likely are they to participate or make some posts to our site if they don't make an effort to look in the first place? I see most people seeking sites like this when they want to try and sell their cars or find out more about what they just purchased. Thats not a bad thing most people I know are pretty busy as it is and as much as it sounds interesting to join the site it may be just another chore versus an outlet to have fun at this moment in their lives. I don't know, they say if you build it they will come, well its been built lol. Besides growing slowly is nice so you get to know everyone. Personally one thing I like about Mustang owners is they tend to be nice more social and out going. This translates to fun imo. Oh and talk about the age group that atracts Mustangs, it's probably one of the largest around.tfs2121 wrote:i got to see 9 total including my own.
not much of a diet for me just working 50 hours a week in a hot garage. its crazy how much you will sweat in a 10 hour day.
the guy that is in the 87 vert is not on this site... hell no one i spoke to is on this site... i just dont get it why are we so hard to find? they have all heard of hank but never us. maybe somone that is close with hank can get him to put a link to our site from his.

I am game for an East Coast Partay lol. Imo it might be nice to meet up by Sandy in NJ. But who would like to go? Who wants to facilitate this? What other attractions are happening, in other words are there any local car shows we can meet at? Might be wise to try and plan this in advance for next year or just make it a get together for a lunch? The commute is a concern too, how many people would be willing to drive up to a few hours each way just to spend a few hours together? Any input on this? I bet there is enough people in this area to make it worth while. Speaking of which be nice to see a few different regional or state events take place. Maybe Arizona, California, Texas, Alabama, Florida, and so on and so forth? We have that map showing were people are located that may help.88-254 wrote:Looks like you all had a great time. Re: woodward 2008 pics
i have lots of pics that i have taken of ascmclaren mustangs and capris i have seen over the years. the newest ones from the mustang show and woodward are all taken with my new 10mp olympus. i do have large full size pics but our website wont let us upload large pics anymore. the good news is we dont have a limit on how much we can upload. just on the sizeASCMCLRN wrote: Once again great job taking pics thanks!!! Someplace within 3 or 4 hours of Frederick, MD and I would take a lot to keep me from it! Just don't make it in a big city, and have a Holiday Inn Express nearby and we're there!

...it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
I hope we can work on this outing for next year.We drive thru Maryland on our way to Florida. About 3 1/2 hours from here. Sandy is in NJ. There are big shows in Carlisle, I think that is not far from Ohio, but could be a hike from Michingan. We also have Macungie shows (this weekend--"Wheels of Time"), but that may not be a good central spot.
If anyone has any thoughts, please post them. We should be able to find a Holiday Inn Express. Hopefully, we can come up with a spot that will be good for alot of people.

In my experience, Saturday is actually a let down. The real fun--and the real spirit of Woodward, is the nights leading up to the cruise. So many of my old pals go then, but we've sworn off the Saturday "official" cruise.
Saturday is brake-torquing mini-vans and fat men in dirty wife-beaters yelling "light 'em up!", while your left leg goes numb and your car overheats.
In '98 I piled out & chased a yutz who threw water under my Superformace Cobra's tires and yelled "spin 'em!". 600HP and I need the water?? After I'd spent so much time getting the car clean? I was PO'd!
When I got back to the car, traffic STILL hadn't moved.
That's not cruising.
The Gratiot event earlier in the summer is better and the median lane is police-monitored for "special" cars only--keeping us way from Goober on the sidewalk and keeping the air flowing into one's radiator.

its alot easer to work on it when its in your backyard. mine is not & its kind of hard when the cars in michigan & i am virginia. thats 10-11 hours away. when i do get to michigan, i am only there a day or 2 & i have more pressing issues like holiday's with family & friends. cant see spending a lot of cash at this point, or dedicate a whole week vacation
to only drive the car 1 day a year.
cant bring it down here, no where to store it.
cars not going anywhere.
so the trans will be done when ever i get extra time.
