What happened to you - - is MY greatest fear & WHY my cars seldom go out.
RememberI am in Jersey, the world capitol of Toyopets and honDUHS and every single driver, thereof is ON THE PHONE the entire time they are driving. ALL and I mean ALL of their accidents are hitting the car in front of them, usually at red lights.
Go to NADA on the web, go to values, go to specialty cars & you'll find our cars. They are higher than the kiddie books the insurance companies use.
They might have your car as high as $8,500 - at one it was, check it out.
If they tell you they want to total it - you act like you just found out that Santa Claus is real !
and reply, thusly...." OH, NO, that would not be acceptable to me, definately not, no way, no how."
This makes them think that you just might go to court, and they bend over backwards to keep outta court, as they lose more $$$$ that way and they usually lose !!
Once you hear a higher offer, from them, higher than the original total it out offer, you know they have opened it up for neogoations. (spelt wrong, I know)
and then ya gotta work them. I am not a licensed appraiser so, a note from me, means diddly squat!
After it's all over, get GRUNDY.
I pay $450 @ year for all 3 of my McLarens and each are listed at $12,000 for total loss and dollar-to-dollar for repairs after a $700.00 deductable.
