are the seats just GT seats with the ASC covers on them?
I saw in a junk yard today a mustang that someone put some 2 tone geay mclaren seats in. The seat leather was shot. Looks like just stock mustang seats covered right?
no they are no recaros

Right ! But there is a bit of an interesting story here, too!
When I tell it, e'one will go.... "Oh...'Ya !!"
Remember, first off that ALL 1987-1990 ascMcLarens began as LX 2-Door Sedans, with the 302-V8. Okay?
Next... Recall their interior? No? Okay, they got regular cloth bucket seats, NOT the up-level "Articulating" seats. Well, except for the Convertible, that was available at extra cost, with LEATHER interior, from the factory. The LX 2-Door Sedan was not available with the Leather Option. Now....IF a Convert was ordered, there was an option of Leather Articulating seats. (Remember we are talking LX) These seats included leather.
So.... That is what went into the McLaren 'Verts. But, not to waste cows,
and knowing that ascMcLaren was going to cut off the Ford supplied seat covers, there was no need to cover them in leather. So....it's really a unique seat as the car arrived at ascMcLaren. An articulating, cloth seat in an LX 2-Door Coupe!! this was again part of the D32 Specific Code assigned to all ascMcLarens, BY FO MO CO.
Again, not to rub it in.... BUT something that S.S. never got from FoMoCo as much as he wanted, thusly all those take off parts 4-sale during the late 1980s.
