ok so i have a 1986 asc mclaren capri now when i got the car it was blue withe the orange and orange rims now from what i was told it was originaly black withe silver i lift the rug up and it is all blue so any one know what is up i did a vin check withe sandy and will re send it if any one knows anything plase comment thanks

your best bet is sandy. but sure sounds like your car was blue. what color is the engine bay?

Send me your VIN in a PM. But, today is a hospital day, so I will not be home until 5PM, Eastern standard time.

Black with silver decals, logos & stripes were pretty rare, as were Smoke Grey with Silver Decals, as were white cars with either silver OR black decals.

Your car was recieved AT asccLaren on November 25th of 1985 and was shipped to dealer (?) on December 5th 1985. She was built Raven Black, with Plartinum Silver Decals, Logos, and Striping. She is a full Packaged ascMcLaren, NOT a EuroCoupe. Her wheels weere the Silver ones, as seen on the 'Verts of that year.

What's crazy is that it has the orange rims there is no black on the car at all what you think it could be would thay send it back to factory for a specal order and change it it just seams like a lot of work to do all this just to make it orange and blue

I have two seperate lists. One from ascMcLaren and another from the shipper. BOTH agree on VIN and Color. What can i say.... I triple checked, too.

IF it was a very late car, and an automatic (rare) and it was one of the very last Automatics, and the buyer wanted Black and it was blue, they (ASC) might have done it (REPAINT) (RE-STRIPE) ~ but, no, it was an early car, at ASC in December '85 - so I highly doubt it was a re-do.

can you tell me what number it was and if she had the b303 cam in her she is so now i know where to start and i herd that the heads were upgraded

She is number 008 of the 1986 Full Packaged Coupes. (of 114 Made for 1986 Model year) She was the 3rd Black one. She should have the B-303 Cam. To the bes.t of my knowlwdge and the paperwork - no Head-work was done. You might ask Mike Negus regarding that, as he has had his all apart and has seen most everything to see inside the heart of the beast. I go by internal paperwork.

I have only heard that SOME of the early 85 heads were modified. And those are just stories.

Nice so she is number 8 and 3 of black that's realy sweet well if she is black and silver then that's what I will start working on thanks for the help is there any way you can copy that paper work and send it to me so I can put it withe my files that I have on her

Yea but that's what's weird I wounder if they messed up on the paper work
