ASC McLaren coupe on YouTube

Post by ckj »

Just found this on Youtube, looks like it was posted in the last few days. It's the restoration of a grey/orange coupe to a grey/blue stripe coupe.

Yes, my car's "Smoke Grey Metallic" but......ascMcLaren never had blue stipes, logos, decals made up!

They had: Black, Popsicle Orange, Silver, and and 2 sets of Gold Metallic.

I like it but who would go through that much and not put it back to 100% original?

But I still like it!!!

There are ALOT of people out there who do not care one bit about originality . In their eye, what they have changed from "original" is an improvement and more pleasing to them. Originality buffs & customizers will never see eye-to-eye.
I like what Mike did with his 85 Navy/Orange. Kept exterior 98% stock and dove into the engine, for max performance. That's the best of both worlds.

Nope, Mike's is fuel injected which was only on the 86 coupes. The 85s have a carb! I've owned both now and they are very different..
