It's going to be hard to get the respect (and $) these cars deserve when the great Barrett-Jackson never even bothers to make sure that the name is correctly spelled.

Unfortunately, ours are the only ones they seem to have this problem with.

Anyway, it's being televised on Speed starting at noon so it'll be interesting to see what they say about it if it gets on, or if it's one of the ones they skip.

It went for $8800 including the 10% premium.
I don't think they show it on TV though.
This one was almost identical to mine, same color and options, mine has 26K miles instead of 18K miles. I paid 9K for mine a year ago.

Question of the day, is this a good price???

My thoughts are Barrett Jackson should be used a guide for the low end of a sell price. People will pay more if they drive it, spend more time on it looking over it, and can actually discuss more details with the owner.

People there have no clue about our cars, therefore they bring 60% of true value. When a 8,000 Mile '87 Monte Caro SS (a fairly common car) brings $17,000 and a 17,000 mile asMcLaren custom made, factory endorsed & backed - 1 of 245 examples brings under $8,000 'ya know a lot is wrong with BJ's bidder's car-knowledge.

They went to commercial right as it was going up for bid. When you listened on speed.com when they keep webcams going during the commercials you'll know why.... Just a sorry, uninformed, clueless, read verbatim off the sellers description-- I wouldn't want that aired either. Embarassing... that they got paid for that.

Bet BJ detailed it some more before it went on block those photos we taken at sellers house that they sent in for prelim auction run. Still think that was too cheap for one as nice as that one looks to be....

Detailing it at BJ is a little too late. If you want buyers to show up, you need to present it the best you can on the web site first.

I'm pretty sure this one was in the local CL in the past year or so & wanted 15K. It was that nice, so I would think this seller is more than a little disappointed that BJ doesn't do their homework on our cars. Anyone in the audience Fri learned absolutely 0 about ASC/McLaren Capris.

Where was I when this auction was held?

It looks very nice but would look better with the ground effects, headlight and taillight covers etc. I believe my '86 has every option available except cruise control. 2 alarms, ground effects, recaro, radar detector, pioneer sound etc.
