The Popsicle Orange was not paint. They were decals.

The dark blue, as used on 84 85 86 COUPES was a STOCK color on 83 85 86 Mustangs & Capris.

3L for 85.

Like Sandy said, 84 and 86 were different blues.

Paint

Post by mustangjim »

Shaine-

You won't find a paint code for Popsicle Orange paint. There was such an animal as the OZ wheels were painted such.

I used a House of Colors blend of Competition Orange from the 69 Chevrolet Camaro along with a 3% blend of Harvest Gold and Bright Red to get the color I used when I refinished the wheels on my Eurocoupe.

Check my albums to see the wheels. Hope the info helps and Good Luck....

It's a bit too "Red" - not a match for the OEMs. Did you ever sell her ??

Sandy & Crew-

I do still own the car, still at Gateway Classics in storage/consignment.

As for "too red", the pix don't do it justice! In direct light, this is a very bright Orange only toned down with red & gold, in person you would be quite impressed with the tone & luster of this mix.

Sorry I have not been able to post lately. Our business (High Ridge Coin) opened in Feb 09, we are frequently putting in 12-18 hrs a day / 7 days a week into it. If anyone collects or is interested, let me know.

I will be pulling the Euro out shortly and do some limited showing this summer. I had a site member extremely interested in buying her, but have not heard back from them in the last month. If anyone else is interested, PM or e-mail me, I am $3k under Gateways price.

Also, I have a limited quantity of the ASC McLaren wheel center emblems & decals available as well as a few NOS parts for our cars, if interested, give me a shout.

Finally, Sandy, I have been following your battle, Sherie and myself wish you continued healing and health. We have recently lost a family member and our best friends 17 year old son to Brain Cancer not to mention my step-fathers Liver Cancer, several friends on this site and others.....Godspeed my friend.........

Best Regards to all,
Jim
