whats the red in the center cap on the wheel?

they painted the cougar head red at graphix concepts when putting the prototype together. i am pretty sure they just did it to the passenger side.
other photos of this car show the red in the center caps as well.
like the red Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Motorsport decal on the fender, it was removed in the 11th hour.
