I call FOUL
It's not a real McLaren (In my opinion)
Note the side rear quarter windows.
They have a chrome trim moulding
around them. McLarens had that left off
(D32 CODE) so that the charcoal aluminum
frame FOR the dark smoked plastic 1/4 window
panels would fit in there.

Don't let an orange stripe phool 'ya.

Bet ya the seats have nice red piping !!

I'll try and get some more info for it. He says there is a buck tag on there, so we will see. Maybe I can get the vin for you Sandy.

Sandy, the guy who talked with you about the "confusing" 86 (which was an 85) did not turn out to be a real asc coupe either. It was not a D32 car. It appeared to have the NorthTown DSO instead of the 6 digit DSO. It had a lot of asc parts on it...but when we dug into it, things just didn't hold.

Sandy, she looks legit. The other side has the blackout mouldings. She's been through the ringer and then some.

The owner claims to have the small metal radiator tag. The body tag also shows it to be a 3L car with the 5.0 engine. While this is not 100% cetainty, you have to admit very very few non asc Capris were purchased from Ford in Midnight Blue with the 5.0L...since 3L was ONLY allowed on the GS.

Actually thinking about it, his tag also says 5 Speed and is NOT marked CRS. So the car was never an RS...and could not have been since it was a 3L car and could not have been a GS since it has a 5 speed...so it MUST be an asc Coupe.
