My Azura Blue car has the highest VIN sequence number of any 1990 ascMcLaren, meaning, it was the last car FoMoCo made FOR shipment to ascMcLaren. Because an employee therein had hopes of buying this car, he had pulled it out of the regular line of cars and parked it "over there" and told fellow employees he was going to buy that car. In the end, he could not raise the money and/or credit, and he passed on it. It became the last 1990 converted, prior to the 12 cars that were to become the 25th Silver Anniversary Editions. Only 2 of them were actually made in the Silver paint color, mine & one in Florida. The other 10 were made in either Red, White or Black, and other than their VINs cannot be told from any other 1990 in white, black or red WITH red interior. These 12 units were made after my Azura Blue 1990, but have lower numbered sequential VINs than my Azura.
As stated, they were parked outdoors awaiting the Aresma Silver Roofs, from Germany, that never materialized.

Sandy,
If I understand correctly????
From what I read, you have the final car "completed" from/at the factory.
The other car, in question, was the final car to come of the body stripper/pealer/bender.... If I owned either car, nothing short of the voice of God, booming down from above, would convinve me that I didn't have the last car. Let's face it. It does mean something special.... Imho, Sandy, you have the final car, but if I had the other car, I would feel diff... So, don't be to hard on the guy.

I wish blue jeans, old cars, and boots would go out of style.

I ONLY EXPLAINED MY CAR, IF THAT WAS BEING HARD ON HIM WELL THAT IS VERY CONFUSING. HE CALLED ME A LIAR AND MORE. I WAS A GENTLEMAN ALL THE WAY THRU.[/b]

When I say hard on the guy, I mean be able to forgive, agree to disagree, and don't hold a grudge. You were a complete gentleman. 100% without a doubt. I believe at some point you even offered to agree to disagree. I just believe that he was passionate and not a "troll." Remember, someday "our" cars may be worth as much as a 68 KR 500, and the only way that happens is if people are passionate about our cars.
You guys have way more experience with this internet thing than I do. I am not trying to lecture or anything like that. I am just saying our numbers are now decreased by one because of a really, well, silly argument. (Silly, because Sandy's car is the last one. No amount of "sea-lawyering" can change that.)
Know what I mean?

I am not a very good writer. I am a good engineer, but lousy at putting my thoughts into words..... After reading my last post, I need to add this:
In no way am I saying he is anywhere in the neighborhood of being in the right. He was dead wrong. I honestly believe that he didn't mean literaly what he wrote. It is obvious that he doesn't realize/understand the weight of the words used. Maturity issue?
I understand how important credibility and integrity are to you Sandy. For him to personally attack you that way doubles/triples/quadruples the wound/insult, I also understand how amazing a concept that is for people like you and me!
I love ya Sandy. You are the man. I am sorry you had to go thru this crap, and I am sorry to bring it up. I won't bring it up again, and next time I see something like this, I will speak up for you like I should have this time. You have been better than awesome to me.

"sea-lawyering"
I have never ever heard that word, and I am 62 years young.
What means it ?
Rainmanoly, I wanted you to read the story of the Silver Anniversary Editions and I think I put a link to it. Did you see it ??
My very local Lincoln-Mercury & Ford dealer has on the shoroom floor a 09 Shelby 500 convertible. It's medium grey with silver stripes. He is after me to trade 1 or 2 McLarens in on it. I just smiled and said that I would think about it. Not gonna happen....

Lol!
Old Navy Term. Every boat (submarines) has one. Someone who twists the rules to suit their needs. For example: "Don't let me catch you jumping on the bed. That means it's ok to jump on the bed as long as I don't catch you."
Also, I am a big fan of CS Forester. I love the Hornblower books (Follows the career of Horatio Hornblower, an officer in the Royal Navy, during England's war against Nepolean.) The term is ancient.
