Capri Vert Spoilers

Post by capriman86 »

As not to derail the other thread, Sandy you mentioned none came with spoilers which I understand, I was just curious what this one is?
Never seen one before.

I know this car below has lots wrong with it, including the nose, but was just curious if you have seen that wing before?

Sandy wrote:84 85 & 86 ascMcLaren CONVERTS were not made with rear deck spoilers on them, nor was it an option. The Coupes, Yes, but not on the 'Verts.

Here's a pic of how they were made:-

So, really, any spoiler on a 84 85 86 'Vert is incorrect.
Where did this one come from Sandy?

That looks like an entire trunk lid.

I would look around the aftermarket companies who make fiber glass panels for Fox Chassis cars.

ahhhhhhhhh yeah it does, doesn't it.

Are the lids the same as notch mustangs? and vert mustangs?

I see the lock isn't on them.

BTW, the nose has the correct asc air dam if the car came with the appearance package.

The sides and rear skirts are wrong. Probably bought with the trunk lid.

It's the strip running horizontally across the center of the bumper cover. The 84 and earlier Capris and Mustangs had a wide depression between two raised sections while 85 and 86 had a mostly solid strip with a thin 'trench' near the bottom.

Whole car kinda looks cobbled together, to me - -
but I kinda like that deck lid. I actually think that
some excellent fiberglass fabricator hand made that
piece onto the stock deck lid used on these cars. It would
be neat if that black area lit up brightly with a large center stop light.

(No, I am not doing it to mine....)
