I saw one, thru pictues that someone showed me.
It was not a Whistler Spectrum-II ~ It was a Whistler, but a
different model. It sat inside the glove box, with the face of it expossed, as the lower left of the glove box door was cut out, so that the face of the unit was very visable and operable without opening the glove box door.
Yes, it was a 1984. Butm like I said, it was in pictures.
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I've been told by a friend a friend of his owns one in the Detroit area. Whether it's this one or another, I couldn't say.
I know of 2 in the Detroit area, one is with a retired L-M exc. I had heard several went to Ford employees and were sold off the Ford demo car lot.

I have not taken pictures. For close to the last 5-6 years I have been attempting to buy the car. If I end up with the Exc car, I'll post all kinds of pictures.
I cannot swear to it. I have been told that Jack Roush has one in his collection of automobiles. I think Sandy may make some headway with an inquiry for pictures if it is true. Jacks collection is located in Livonia Michigan.
Mark (plumkrazy) picked up a rear hatch and rear bumper that i am sure came from an 84 coupe. it was blue with orange and it had 1984 only taillight covers. i know they are 84 coupe covers for sure because of info i got from howard storch. the 84 covers had an extra lip across the top.
that is the only 84 coupe i know of... and it was only part of one.

I know this is an old thread, but these 25 intrigue the heck out of me. How can so many be so absolutely MIA (with the possible exception of the one David is aware of)? I mean, there were only 3 AMC AMX3 prototypes made and their whereabouts are known. There are many GM Motor-rama cars that are one-offs and they are discovered all the time (and most were supposed to have been destroyed after their show lives were over)
Shoot, there really weren't too many more blue 85's built than the 84's, but 85's come up for sale all the time. But these 25 84's - nothing. I just don't get it. There has to be more to the story of these cars that explains why they NEVER come up for sale.

I have only been in the asc coupe community for a few monthes but I thuoght I had read somewhere on some site that there were only 3 coupes built in 84. Does anyone else seen that article or am I thinking of something else.

Were they (initially built by Dearborn) early, middle, or late in the Capri production run? Are any of the VINs known? Were the VINs sequential? Were they all equipped with a 5.0L engine?
