Got myself some wheels! Now, on to Phase 2

I found a set of ascMClaren wheels for my car! And, I might add, I got them for an amazing price! I contacted the guy when I first bought the car, and he wanted to much money. Nine months later, he hadn't had a single call on them, and I got'em cheap!

They will be here in 6-8 working days. Pics to follow.

Now, on to phase 2: Seats.
I know Detroit never throws anything away. I had a 68 Bronco. The transmission that I replaced it with came out of a 59 GMC truck. My 99 Galant's replacement came out of a Chrysler Sebring. I see the Ford Focus has 4 x 108mm bolt patterns. I've never tried it, but if the bore is correct, we should be able to throw any focus wheel on a fox stang. Right?
So, how about seats? Is there a Volvo, LandRover, Mazda, or Ford (I realy need to look closer, but I think the Ford Fusion is a winner) seat that is an exact replacement?

I know, some of you are probably rolling your eyes right now, and maybe, I should change my Screen Name to Big On Cheap.

Do a search. I think the ascMcLaren Recaro seats are a particular type but with some tweaks to make them "cheaper".

I'm searching, and keeping an eye on the site. I remember seeing it here before, but I can't find it. The 89 was just a normal mustang seat w/ a T-bird head rest, not a recro?

Is their a one for one modern day replacement of/for Fox Body Mustang Driver and Passenger Seats?

The 94 and up to maybe 99 Mustang seats will bolt right in. This includes the power seat assembly. I forget what the cut off year is. Don't forget that uphostery and seat foam is readily available for the 79-93 Mustang seats.

New Recaros will cost $800 each
Recovering Recaros will cost $1100 for the pair depending on where you live
New fox upholstry (79-93) is about $500 for 2 seats.

Modern-day replacement of which? The Standard Sport Seats, or the Recaro "C" Seats ?? Without checking, just from memory - the Recaros are still offered. Current Mustang Seats are probably different.

If you can locate a wrecked McLaren or a T-Bird for 1989-1990 and the seat are good, Hank had NOS covers.

I'm just tyring to save a buck. It just seems that anything w/ the name Mustang on it costs $200 more than something that says Ranger, Focus, or Fusion.

If my memory is correct though, didn't the 79-93 seats have a problem w/ construction? The metal frames were just tack welded, they would break and twist and trash the seat? That is why there are so few left around???? (Blast it! At 36 I should still be able to remember things!)

Did the 94-99s have the same problem?
