The car on the front cover must have a prototype air dam.

Is that molded in the plastic or a decal/paint applied to a standard cover?

The lettering is raised and molded into the plastic and has paint on top.

Do you have a ASC or did you? was wondering what the story is behind them. S.E. MI sounds like my side of town.[/quote]

No asc. I was thinking of putting them on my Chevy truck since they fit perfectly in the stock holes for the driving lights. But since the covers at least are rare I think I will let someone buy them that wants to put them on the proper automobile. I'm a purist at heart.

grkjr wrote:I wasn't aware of this site until a couple of weeks ago. I own the black 1983 Capri L that was photographed in 2004 at the Woodward Dream Cruise. I bought the car brand new from Bob Dusseau L-M in June of 1983. The car was sitting in the showroom with the air dam, rear spoiler, and Marchal fog lights with ASC/McLaren labeled gray covers installed. Looking at the window sticker, the car was shipped first to Stu Evans L-M. Perhaps this is where the "Sports Package" was installed. After owning the car a couple of months I damaged the front spoiler. I was able to visit the plant on Autry and met a Mr. Horst Klaus and he was kind enough to give me a replacement front spoiler. I personally installed the replacement. It was a kit contained in a plastic bag. He told me there were either 100 or 300 cars made like mine. I installed the headlight covers made by Extang Corp in Ann Arbor, MI. I purchased the side skirts and rear valance from Hines Park L-M in Plymouth, MI in the mid-1980s. My brother installed the side skirts. I broke the rear valance before I could install it and bought another one from Paradise. The rear valance was installed by me in 2003. I've installed a Hurst shifter and had dual exhaust with Flowmasters in 1999 or 2000. My latest change was a replacement of the headliner last summer when it started to fall down. I found a set of '85 Cougar 15" aluminum wheels with Gatorbacks and replaced the TRX wheels and tires. The car now has just under 55K miles on the odometer.
this is his post from last year i forgot his name but he is a very nice guy. i think he did show up at the ford show at the rock last year

Advertise the covers here or on ebay. Forget Craigslist.

You realize there are probably only half a dozen people out there that these really will matter too at the price I quoted. Those people might see these on ebay, this site or www.foureyedpride.com.

Even then, you're going to need hope the right person sees it. I have seen like 3 or 4 of the Sports Packages actually on cars.

The Marchals themselves have hundreds of buyers (84-86 Mustangs/Capris).

Hi, I'm the guy missing a cover. The brochure with the black '83 on the cover is what my car looked like new. The fog light cover logo is painted in red as far as I can tell. It does not look like a vinyl sticker. I'd love to have new lights and covers, but I cannot afford to spend the $150 or more that people think that the set is worth. I will most likely cut a stencil and spray my spare cover with my hobby airbrush to get it to look like an original. I have some mechanical repairs that are needed before making cosmetic improvements. The joys of owning an old car.

Regards,

Jerry
