Parts needed

Post by darkhorse40 »

my '87 needs the following parts:

windshield molding

tonneau applique in blue

left and right rocker covers

rear valance

rear ascMcLaren bumper emblem

left and right taillight covers

rear spoiler (a guy I work with who does body and paint claims to have two of these in storage, but has yet to produce them. He says he bought them back in the day when you could still buy an asc new.)

Regatta Blue interior parts:

center console aft of the shifter (are these the same as the ones that are on the pre '87 mustangs?)

storage compartment panel

seat belt parts inboard of the seats

left and right forward door trim (by where your feet go)

left and right door sill covers

If anyone has these and wants to sell, please pm me with asking price. I'm trying to work on a budget, so i would not not be able to buy all of them at once.

All these parts were not included when I purchased the vehicle, but buying them from Henry will strap me so much I won't be able to put gas in it.

At least I'll be able to go out to the garage and gawk at it!

Most of these, except maybe the console (I'm not as familiar with the Mustangs as I am the Capri's) should be standard FoMoCo Mustang parts. Check ebay, they come up from time to time; but not as often as other interior colors. If you get leads on two sets of inboard seat belts, I call dibs on the second set!

Much difficulty lies in the fact that blue is the uncommon fox chassis color on the inside. But now I'm thinking that Ford sold alot of blue station wagons too. Maybe I'll get luxky there.

No problem on the second set.

I have some black ones playing second string right now.

To help out on the budget, use plastic/vinyl dye to re-color the off color parts you have or buy used parts whatever the color is (red is easy to find).
Ive done this on a few parts, and if you prep them right they'll look perfect and last a long time. I did mine about 3 years ago and they still look great.

Parts

Post by svo413 »

There is a guy parting out a car on ebay. About 2 weeks ago I saw a white tonneau assembly and last week a white door (no glass). I would try finding him for a few parts. At this point, take any color you can get if the price is right.

On another note, there is an 87 for sale on ebay with a starting price of $500. It was bid up to $610 so far. It's cheap due to an engine fire. From the outisde looks like it needs a hood and right fender. Waiting on PICs under the hood. The wife already told me no more projects.

Thanks, now I'm half tempted to bid on the arson victim.

HaHa...Sorry Kevin, your wife doesn't want to get the Tbird kicked out of the garage! We had a small conversation about that last Sunday. My wife wont let me kick the Charger out either.

Encore

Hey, that's Josh who owns Encore. Contact him and see what kind of a package deal he'll work for you. Tell him Mike with the SVOs, referred you to him.

You know I called Encore MPW this morning and he didn't have what I was looking for, and he refered me to his ebay store, which I could not locate (weird).
