You kidding right?

All Capri info is here:
http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/Literature/

Here is the info archive for asc cars:
http://www.ascmclaren.org/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=6

This post describes the paint for all cars (scroll way down for coupe colors):
http://www.ascmclaren.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=22

BTW, 1979 did not have a 3L code for the Capri. If they DID have it in the Ford lineup it should be the same mix code as 3L for 1985. As far as I know, Ford always used the same code for the same color and never changes the definition of the code from year to year.

Here is a great resource too:

http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/

I checked and the 3L listed for 1979 is the same as the 3L listed for 1985. PPG 3171

So then, the 1985 & 1986 blue Coupes are the exact same color?

The '86 body side molding is lighter grey, right?

No and no.

84, 85 and 86 Blue coupes are all different colors.

85 and 86 side mouldings are the same charcoal grey.

But all are called Midnight Blue Metallic? I'm confused. I read this this link before I posted and I still don't understand what's what.

My '86 was Charcoal and the '86 I'm considering looks different than my blue '85, so I was thinking the molding made it look so.

Well, ok, I think I see the confusion. asc and the rest of us usually just call these colors Midnight Blue since they are so close together. However, they are 3 separate Ford colors with different names.

5C > Dark Cadet Blue Metallic of 1984
3L > Dark Blue Metallic of 1985
7B > Shadow Blue Metallic of 1986
