255 engine 302 engine

Post by capri50asc »

Hi Guys

A lot of people selling Capri's Mustangs, T-Birds and Cougars "Assume" The car has a 302 for 1980-1982. When it is a 255. Just make sure it is a 302. I purchased a 1980 Chevy Z-28 from a Chevy dealer back in 1985. I drove the car, looked it over and it was a sharp car. I "assumed" it was a 350 cid engine with the ram air system. Guess what! It was a 305 HO California car that was shipped here in Michigan. All California Z-28 could only be ordered with the 305 HO. The remaining 49 states got the 350 ! The 255 is a very bad engine! Just like the Caddy 4.1 liter, Vega, and Escort 1.6 liters.

Good Luck Chris

Kinda does'nt matter which it is because it'll be getting a roller motor anyway.

It'll only look like a stock Anny' car. Modern block and heads, Pro-Flo efi, 4 whl discs, updated suspension and 17" wheels.

My '65 T'Bird is the 10th year anniversary model. Came with a special color, interior hubcaps etc. It was called a 'Special Landau'. But they made 4500 of them. I like it.

My Dad had a triple green one when I was a kid. He blew the 428 racing it and put a 406/tri-power in it.

My desire is to collect "solid" examples of 25th & 30th Anny' 'Birds and a '66 Q code. I've had both Anny' cars, but they had to go behind a sick child and divorce, respectively. So now I'm rebuilding.
