Noob question
OK...I'm a mustang guy but have no idea about mclearn mustangs. I just purchased an 89 asc that is missing most of the mclearn bits. It a different colour (was blue), different interior (was tan) and all the skirts and lights and nose are basically mustang LX. Car is pretty rough. Rockers have some holes and wheel wells need work too. Car can be fixed. this is where the question comes in. I need the driveline for my mustang and figured I would just scrap the car for weight. however, it seems too rare and not in that bad a shape. Am I better to a) scrap it and take the $200. b) sell of what mclearn bits are left than scrap it or c) try and sell it as a fixable shell. Love to look of it but the reality is for me to fix it properly would kill the budget on this car. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Sounds like there isn't much left asc wise.
If the shell is rust free, put an ad in the classifieds here, craigslist or ebay and see if somebody will take her as a roller for $500. That might be at least make it worth your while so that she doesn't get scrapped.
Or maybe see if someone will trade you for a good running roller/transmission setup plus some $$ if they are interested in fixing the car up and want the original engine.
