The show was said to be small due to several factors, never been so it looked like a good turn out to me. hopefully yours will be done by the next show or cruise night and we can meet up!

it is an 85 with 32,xxx miles and been said to be one of the first 5 made by McLaren.... it has been owned by a member or two from this site and I believe Sandy has had this car in his driveway at one time if memory serves. It is a driver and getting much better as I had the wheels redone, new tires and exhaust and replaced the side skirts and repainted the car from the mouldings down due to chips from years neglect. It is by far the tightest and best running carb'ed fox I have ever owned!!! I hope to get to some local shows with it and meet up with some of the locals from here real soon to show it off

Sandy, this is the car in the hemmings article that has the "NASA" hood scoops as they were called by another member here... previous owner of car was owner or chef of Mohawk Mtn in New York.... this car has the pre-production hood scoops before they ended up as the stock louvers with the dual pinstripe hood that also didnt make production......

OH, DEAR GOD, I LOVED THAT CAR!!

wHEN IT WAS HERE, IT WAS IN NEED OF TENDER LOVING CARE.
I TOLD THE OWNER TO CALL ME IF AND WHEN HE WANTS TO SELL IT.
HE SOLD IT AND NEVER CALLED ME. I THINK ITS HAD ABOUT 3 OR 4 OWNERS, SINCE THEN. THAT CAR IS SUPER SPECIAL.
ONLY 4 OR 5 (I THINK 5) HAD THOSE HOOD SCOOPS. ULYRA RARE. I DID NOT KNOW YOU HAD THATCAR, NOW.
THEY WERE 1985 SORTA KINDA PROTOTYPES. ACTUALLY EACH WAS GIVEN TO A DIFFERENT CAR MAG FOR "EXPOSURE" TO THE READERSHIP.

THEN THEY WENT BACK TO ASC MC LAREN WHO THEN SOLD THEM AS USED CARS. THEY ARE, IBELIEVE, THE FIRST 5 1985 S

Sandy, this is the same car
Are there any other members with one of these early 85's on the site, i look around and have not seen any...and with all my searching on the net I have not found anything about these cars nor have I been able to find pictures from when they were built either with a magazine feature or alike. This car still has all the original ASC parts and has not been chopped up, although I did change the exhaust as it was a bubble gum hack job when I got it and was not original from the headers back already. I am purposly not restoring the body past what I have done to the lowers, leaving it as original as I can as it is still shows very well for a car that has been outside most of it's life from how the story goes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I seem to recall that the only visual alteration to the 5 were the NASA-TYPE Hood Scoops They were all 5-Speeds Sticks, That Dark Blue with the Orange.
