I believe the electric defroster in the rear window was standard on all Capri(s)

No, it wasn't, I just don't remember if it was an option on all trim levels or only available on certain ones.

Hmm, I have never seen a bubble-back without it.

My 83 Crimson Cat did not have a rear heated glass, someone put a Mustang hatch on it, so the search is on for a non-heated glass.

Do you have a frame and just need the glass, or are you looking for a complete non-heated hatch?

If I remember correctly, I think I've got one on a damaged frame, but I need to check for sure when I get home this evening. I'll let you know.

Rear defrost was an option on all trim levels for 1983.

Okay, Okay, Okay.....

(It SHOULDA been standard!!)

Ya see, I got that wrong, because I never used it on my 86 Coupe.
(Virgin Rr. Defroster) Me thinks one needs to go out IN snow/ice
to need it, Yes? That, and windshield wipers and Traction-Lok I really do not need.

Yes, I have one. Glass is good, just needs a 15 year deep layer of dust cleaned off of it. It's on a hatch that caught the brunt of a light rear-end hit. It even has holes for an asc rear spoiler. Spoiler not included. :-)

That might work. Never tried it. The wires aren't embedded in the glass, so it could be feasible. I wonder if there are any differences in the glass form itself between heated and non heated??

Keith,

If you would like to part with the glass, I'll take it! TRADE maybe? I'll make a road trip to get it!

Thanks,

David
