There is a television commercial currently playing (usually around 10-11 at night, New York TimeZone) that is driving Sandy plum crazy. Has ANYONE seen this ?
* It is short, no more than 20 seconds
* It is in black & white
There is NO speaking, tho there may be soft music in the background
* It appears to be raining, sorta kinda lightl
* Spotlights (vivid white) are shinning down on the cars
* I can see a 1957/58 Chrysler 300 hardtop coupe on a close-up
* At the end of the commercial there is nothing to indicate what the "H" it was selling, or what THAT was all about.
* There are no logos, nothing appears on the screen, nada, nuttin'
* cars can be seen. I very very faintly see a 1960s Imperial, a 1957/58 Chrysler 300 and the others are in black outline only.
Then, the voice over says "Isn't it time that you got back into luxury?"
Fade to white. For a million dollars, nobody would have a clue whatthe heck it is/was all about.
In NY / NJ it's on channel # 40 AFTER 10 PM ANY CLUE ?
Don't forget, NO logos, No Brand Names hinted or mentioned.
Only that 1 sentence.....

Sandy,
Are you sure you aren't just having flashback hallucinations from too many "Mopar Hits" back in the day at your father's Chrysler Dealership? lol

No No No -This is real. It IS the most unusual TV commercial that I have ever seen, in my many years. Black-on-black, & it all happens fast. Black background, black cars, seemingly going around (like the letter "O" in a circle.) It's raining. Spotlightes from above shine down on the cars going around and around, with a flash close-up on a 1957 Chrysler 300 - also black, I think a blond model-like woman seated behind the steering wheel, looking AT the camera. There is NO audio, at all. Among the cars circuling around , with the picture slightly smeared a little bit, but sharp MOPAR EYES can squent-out a 1960 Imperial Crown Sedan and a 1969 Imperial LeBaron (cannot tell coupe or 4-Dr. Hdt.) and I think one other, but the entire thing is over so fast. My guess is it is a 14 second commercial. There is NO speaking. At the end there is no corporation, product, brand or any identifier to who, what or where this is about.
Only one voice-over stating "Isn't it about time you got back into real luxury?"
CUT ! END ! No trademark, no mention of any product brand. NOTHING
Weird commercial. Perhaps the re-birth of the Imperial ?
I saw it 2 times on Channel 10 in NY/NJ after 10PM
ALSO the viewer is left confused IF it was EVEN a commercial
Very sexy and falling on a billion deaf ears/eyes.
PS/ My Dad owned 33 & 1/3rd of the dealership. The other 2 owned the same. They were friends. All 3 were lawyers, my Dad specialized in Real Estate Law. The dealership made money. I worked there.
All 3 owners are long gone, and so is the dealership. It would have NEVER lasted. It was a small 3 car showroom, 2 salesmen, 3 on Saturday with 1 retiree on Saturday only. 1 Girl in office, 5 service bays 1 wash pit ,
small parts department, in town on a local street. Cry-CO. closed all those up in the 1990s they want all big highway wham-bam, and rape the customer and get 'em on the road, NOW, type of operations, not "Mom & Pop type dealership.
WE did NOT do business that way! We sold alot of Imperials & Chrysler New Yorkers to the 3 owner's friends and associates thru word of mouth.
Those were really good times, in my life. My heart, it still belongs to MOPAR.

Yes, that is finally the full "spot". I have seen the 15, 30, 45, second spots playing off the entire one, that is a minute and 32 seconds. What a fabulous commercial !! Ther initial "teaser" ia wht I saw, it was the 10 second one. As a longer one was released, the prior was discontinued. The 92 second one was on the Super Bowl.
If my folks were still alive, I woulsd bet the farm that a loaded to the nines 2012 Chrsler 300"C" would be on order, right now !
(Unless there were "imperial" rumblings underground......)
