I took Froggy to a friend from school who owns a body shop to talk about the paint and we were looking at the latch and motor for the tonneou cover.
Does anyone have one have a resource for purchasing new. It looks like a different assembly than others that I have seen, but my blue '87 has no hardware there as the previous owner did not give me all the parts,
The actuator on Froggy seems to be inoperable. My friend says that the actuator is supposed to activate the motor and pull the cover down to the level of the trunk lid so they don't interfere with each other.

I'm posting two pics 'cause I'm not certain the equipment on my car is the same as anything I've read about.
Do some mercs have a hook to retain the top in the tonneau, and some have a screw method, or is mine the only one with a hook.
I've never heard it mentioned anywhere before.

Also, the motor doesn't pull down the top, it pull down the tonneau cover.
