Finally found my original owner!

Post by mca1686 »

After tons of internet searching ( thanks to the mountains of paperwork with the car) I was able to find the original owner. I just spoke to him and he original purchased the car at Dickwoods Ford, Kansas city Missouri. He told me he went in to buy 5 sedans for his company and he saw this car and had to have it. ( For an extremely high amount which he cant remember, high 20,000's). The only non stock item he installed on the car was with the help of his buddy to work on NASCAR cars. On the rear frame rails he installed some heavy lead weights for high speed stability. He told me around 110mph the car would lift in the rear. The lead was good for another 25mph+. He told me he sold it due to his wife not driving stick and wanting a new XJS Jag. He assured me the car even being at high speeds once in a while was never abused. I've decided to leave the weights on the rear due to the "history" of the car.

Have him write you a letter, have him describe the weights in it, include it with your paperwork.

Mostly in the rear I guess. My wife says I have 'lead in my ass.'

Ken,
Does that mean that you have entered the "metallic age" with the rest of us old farts?

Silver in your hair
gold in your teeth
& lead in your butt----lol

From the looks of them they are around 20-22 pounds each. I will have him send me an email though verifying they are "original" to him to make sure they are never removed
