MOCSEM - Mustang Memories 2011 - Dearborn

Post by shelbyscarab »

I haven't heard anyone talk about this, so here it is.....

Anyone going? I am planning on attending.

Anyone have a chance to look at the vehicle classes?

McLarens are in "O" = 79-93 Roush/Steeda/Saleen/Shelby/McLaren (stock & modified)

Was there a shelby between 79-93?

And interestingly, they've joined the 2nd & 3rd generation cars together in one class. 74-78s with the 79-93 cars. Generations 1, 4, & 5 all have separate classes. short on trophies?? (personally I think you could make a strong argument for splitting up the 79-93 cars into 79-86 & 87-93.)

I never enter mycars in these things !

1. It's always wicked HOT and HUMID;
and
2. the crowds are always top heavy with 16-26 year olds and they have NO appreciation for a bone stock, 100% showroom perserved automobile.

I am going to try to make it down. Have to put a water pump on the car.

There are the 89-91 SAAC cars that are considered "shelby's"

Yes, you are right. The four eye cars should be seperated. There are so many more 87-93 cars it makes it tough for an esrlier fox owner. Good luck to all who go and take lots of pics.

Well, I can handle the heat pretty well yet, I know that may not always be the case though....

I'm just going to display and talk with other owners..... I've realized thats the best way to enjoy it.... Sandy - you want wows from the teeny bopper crowd??? put a $5K stereo in your car and some DUBS on your capri, and they'll be all over it!

I think there are a huge contingent of Mustang fans of the 79-86 cars and the 87-93 cars - and both are represented in a large way at car shows. I don't know how you don't separate the two into their own classes. And to throw the '74-78s in WITH them is laughable.......

In years gone by, if a displayer of a car, wished to leave early, he/she would go to one of the organizers (wearing a black/white striped shirt) and ask for assisstence and he would guide theperson out, by blowing a whisle and guiding the car (person) safely out.

THEN, one day, at one show, one idiot hit a person walking.
That changed it all, for ever. If you are displaying a vehicle you MUST stay to the end ! At age 64, and in N.J. hot & humid, somtimes it's just too hot for me, and I want to leave. I mean, 10 AM - 5 PM is one looong day in weather flirting with 90 and humid.

So, I don't do shows any longer, with the exception of our town's show June, July & August from 6PM to 9PM, every Wednesday eve.

Sandy you should move to Michigan just so you can do shows.

People leave all the time. Today 3 cars around me left by Noon we got there at 9Am and left just after 1pm got home just as it started raining.

Chris showed his blue ASC and there was a low milage red ASC for sale in the swap area. And Just one GPIV

It would appear that NJ got as much as MI last year. The average in MI is around 50inchs and NJ was 25inchs. Whats another 25inchs

Wow, glad I don't live in jersey concerning car shows.... seems to me that would be a big thing with many people deciding not to go....

Horrible turn out for ASCs at this rather large Ford Mustang show. 1 for sale, and 1 in the show. I honestly think that there is no other area in the country that has the highest # of ASCs, but wow, is it ever hard to see them.
