Mecum Auto Auction, Kissimmee, Fl

Post by Kentennis »

The auction started today and runs thru Sunday! Over 2100 cars and not 1 McLaren among them.

You can watch it on your computer thru the Mecum website.

I will never take a car to a Mecum Auction without a reserve! they are pumping them thru wit a 15 second position on the block and all done with bidding before 30 seconds have elapsed. No one gets top, or even near top, in that time frame!

The ones with a reserve ARE NOT selling!

Glad I didn't take mine. I do have someone that came up to me Sunday, at a car show, and asked if I'd take $12,500.00 for it. I said I didn't know if I wanted to sell it. He gave me his name and phone number. It is a tempting price!

Mustang McLaren

Post by Kentennis »

Wonder why they called it a Mustang McLaren when the Mecum website has a listing for McLaren. I didn't check the Mustang listing since there are usually a lot of them. Nowhere on the vehicle does it say, "Mustang McLaren."

IT IS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE MINE
I want to see what it brings !!

The wheels are INcorrect, with their red depression area painted, but I will say that I do not think that they detract. We have about the same mileage as my Azura Blue and he has 8,000 miles less than my 25th Silversary Edition (which is 1 of 2 made.)

By 2:00 PM tomorrow you will know. You can watch it on Mecum.com, on your computer. You'll have to sign in with your email address but they don't inundate you with ads and offers you don't want or need.

WELL, SHE HAD JUST ABOUT THE SAME MILEAGE AS MY AZURA BLUE, BUT MINE HAS MORE OPTIONS SHE SOLD FOR 4 21,000.00 !
NOW THEN, SHE IS A 1988. MINE IS A 1990. MY AZURA BLUE IT TOTALLY STOCK, and I am THE original owner ! "A" on the title.
My car has options this red car lacked, such as The Remote Rader detector, and the bumper-body-bumper tape stripe FROM aas/McLaren.
The Red 1988 had a Tilt Wheel, but NO 1990s could have one, because of the Air Bag, which 1987-1989 lacked. $ 21,000 is strong money, I THINK

$21,000.00

Actually Sandy, that's right in the ballpark that I was thinking, considering the mileage, condition and the fact that it's close to a GT Vert, which would bring that amount.

But, let me reiterate, I would never consign a vehicle to an auction without a reserve. You can always remove the reserve once bidding has started but you can't add it if the bidding is slow. And they were pushing the 'No Reserve' cars thru in less than 30 seconds versus a minute and 30 seconds for the reserve cars. In other words how fast can you generate income and SKREW the 'No Reserve' sellers!

First thing I would do would to remove those dark headlight covers. They are illeagle in New Jersey, anyway, and I do not like them.
I do kinda like what he did to the wheels. BUT, 'ya know that my middle name is "STOCK". I like Stock, the best on these cars. :hello:

LOOK at that "gut" on me !! Big fat pig, at 266 pounds.
THEN I got Colon Cancer and cancer makes the fat dissappear ! Now, I am 179 and look beter than ever !! and, I am able to HOLD the 179 and not lose more. This is good. Now, I wish I could kill the cancer - but It seems not possible. Damn. 'Ya, that's my 1990 Azura Blue....
