There is no keyhole! The "hole" that was where the key hole was used for for the center stop lamp wiring, as when it was a 302 V-8 "LX" 2-door sedan.... the center stop lamp was mounted inside on the rear package shelf.

Now then... look inside the car, brhind the 2 front seats. In one of them (I 4-get whicj one....) you should see a nylon plastic thin "wire" carefully pull (NOT YANK) it and it will open your trunk. My guess is that the plastic button is the problem......Sandy

Have you tried to have someone pull up on the trunk as you press the button?

Do you hear the relay click when you press the button? How about gently pressing down on the trunk to relieve the pressure while some one presses the button?

My trunk release is behind the driver's seat. The one behind the passenger seat is for the gas filler cover. And the ones in min are woven wire similar to aircraft cable. And they're hard to pull! There are 2 buttons in the glove box that open them too. Mine both work and I can open the trunk, remotely, with my 'clicker.' That works too, but I only have 1 clicker and cannot find another one anywhere! I sure would like to have 2.

I understand!!!

I have a problem getting my top to stay latched when it's up. The little probe in the back 'pops' the back of the top open when I hit a bump. The adjusting screw came loose and backed all the way out so I have no idea of where it was before. I'm slowly turning it down so I don't break something. Getting very close now. Adjusted it again yesterday and took it for a 100+ mile run but haven't put the top back up yet. Hell, we live in Florida and the car lives in the garage. Not sure of the mileage exactly but it's somewhere arounf 23, 530. Doesn't hurt anything when it's not latched. water can't get in and the only thing is, someone could just lift up the back of the top and steal anything they want. Of course, cutting the top to get to it would be worse!! We don't keep anything of value in there anyway! Just don't take the whole car!!!

Okay, let me open your trunk !

Do this:

Open Hood

Disconnect one (does not matter which cable to slip off)

Wait 5 seconds and reconnect the cable.

Trunk is now open !

Trunk

Not sure if its possible, you vert guys would know. Can you remove the package tray with the top up to gain access to the trunk? Did the manual pull cable break or just didn't do anything? Manual releases with these cars ages tend to freeze up over time. Is there an audible click when the relay button is pressed? Could be a possible blown fuse? I'd check the fuse box just for kicks.

Diidn,t understand ?????

Open hood
Disconnect the battery by slipping off one (either one) cable off of its battery "post". Then when completely off and in your hand, replace it onto the battery post that you slipped off from. The trunk should open

Maybe ... if the seats were removed. The 'package tray' is actually two parts - the flat shelf with storage compartments, and the surround. The shelf will come out, possibly with the seats in place. The surround is another story. I'm not sure if it would fit through a doorway or not, even with the seats out.
