What wrong with my top?

Hi guys/gals, I have a 1985 asc vert #147. My issue is that there is a gap between the frame of the top and the canvas top itself. Hope thats not too confusing. Any help/ pics would be greatly appreciated!

I looked at mine tonight. The top is not connected to the frame, I can put a finger between the top and the frame. The fabric over laps the frame so no water gets in. The pics I took dont show anything, I will have to pull the car out in the light to get better pics.

Thanks Jeremy. I just don't think it's right. Looks like rain or car wash water can get in. Whatever pics you can get, with the gap, will be helpful. Thanks again!
