Sandy.
Wow, that was sudden. It was a long and difficult battle for him. I wish I ad taken the time to meet him. It's possible we met at one of the NJ shows in the 90s.

Very Sad today
I'm very sorry about this sad news, It was Sandy who told me to purchase my ASC McLaren. Sandy said" I want you to hang up this phone and go buy the car!" "its a great deal at that price" I bought it and LOVE the car!
Thank you Sandy! A true man who is with his maker GOD.

Thank you Sandy! A true man who is with his maker GOD.
We are very saddened to hear of Sandy's passing. I too had never met Sandy in person, but in the 10 months or so that I have owned my ASC, we exchanged lengthy emails. What a gentleman!!! In the middle of all his suffering, he was able to unselfishly convey to me so much info about my car. The conversations were anything but boring.
One thing that I am left with is Sandy's inistance that I keep my car "original". I have done my best (even down to installing a "new" 1985 Kenwood radio) and think he would be pleased.
RIP, Sandy. We have lost an icon. You are indeed missed already.

Sandy
My deepest & sincerest condolences go out to the entire Block family in your time of loss. Never getting to meet Sandy in person, yet getting such insight for his passion {Karen, Son & family first, then his amazing legacy of the McLaren} I knew that all of us mattered to him. I know that now Sandy is in a better place, without pain and in peace with the wind blowing through his hair while driving in his beloved "babies", lovingly watching over his family and friends.
To my fellow enthusiasts, especially Mike, Tom & Ken, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you all as well as to all that had the priveledge of knowing him. Although we all must deal with the loss of our friend & mentor, we will always cherish our fond memories and lengthy assertations with Sandy.
Rest in Peace my Friend....

I have no words...
God speed Sandy, God speed.
The Mourner's Kaddish
Exalted and hallowed be His great Name.
Throughout the world which He has created according to His Will. May He establish His kingship, bring forth His redemption and hasten the coming of His Moshiach.
In your lifetime and in your days and in the lifetime of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon, and say, Amen.
May His great Name be blessed forever and to all eternity. Blessed and praised, glorified, exalted and extolled, honored, adored and lauded be the Name of the Holy One, blessed be He.
Beyond all the blessings, hymns, praises and consolations that are uttered in the world; and say, Amen.
May there be abundant peace from heaven, and a good life for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.
He Who makes peace in His heavens, may He make peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

Re: Very Sad today
I had a very similar conversation with him years ago, prior to buying my car. RIP, Sandy.capri50asc wrote:I'm very sorry about this sad news, It was Sandy who told me to purchase my ASC McLaren. Hi Bob, Sorry but I don't know. Since I'm not near there I didn't think to ask. I'll make a call when I can if you'd like.rlyons13 wrote:Have arrangements been made? I am local and would like to pay my respects
To everyone else I'm sure Sandy would appreciate the remembrances. Keep them coming.

He surely was the standard bearer of our cars, how many times had he been quoted in magazines? He was a wealth of knowledge, and always loved hearing his opinion on ASC subjects, and life, he wasn't shy. Always liked hearing his stories of the car sales business.
I remember the first time I spoke to him back in 1994 when I contacted him to find out more background information about my car, I simply asked 2-3 questions - he then sent me a huge manila envelope filled with all kinds of information about my car in particular and general stats about ASCs.
Just throwin' this out Mike, maybe a corner of the website could have a pict./icon for Sandy in remembrance?
Deepest condolences to his wife Karen and his son Mathew (Mathew, your dad was really proud of you, he spoke of you on here often with all of your accomplishments, whether it was earning your degree, buying your first car, etc.)
